Another trip to California. This time Monterey Bay area, a drive up the Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco where I definitely lost at least a piece of my heart.

My images in Monterey were primarily taken early in the morning when life was just starting to stretch and yawn. Fisherman's Wharf was full of delivery trucks, fruit vendors and, of course, sea lions, among other less animated residents.

The 17 mile drive to Carmel, brought to life the phenomenal majesty of the cypress trees and a shoreline that can not help but beckon you back.

San Francisco is just one neighborhood after another. Avoiding most of the tourist spots (ok so maybe we did the trek up Lombard Street, and maybe we rode a cable car or two.....) I think I got a true sense of what this city is built on and around.

Enjoy.

Cape Cod is where I feel closest to heaven. Winter, spring, summer, fall. There is a beauty to this sandy peninsula that remains no matter how the Atlantic Ocean and winds may batter and change it's composure. It is home.

In nature, I think most people tend to see things in wide expanses. I tend to look down and see the details.

I have fallen in love with California. There is a peace that I find there, whether it is walking the miles of beach in the south or strolling down the streets of Monterey. There is a mystery there. It draws you in and just won't let go.

Spain was a surprise. Unlike much of Europe, there are still areas of Spain that remain rural and serene. The drama comes from it's topography, it's diverse history, and most of all, it's color.

This is my version of a catch place. It is where I place my images that can not be applied in specifics. Truth be told, it is my favorite.
